Class of 2020

We have enjoyed learning different characters within our dance this half term. Today, we performed our dances to different classes. Brilliant ! 

We used lots of resources to show how we can make 2 digit numbers by partitioning into tens and ones. We used straws, ten frames, numicon, number lines and bead bars. We enjoyed exploring different ways. 

Mrs Hammond came in to tell us how she helps people everyday. She showed us her uniform, some of her equipment that she uses daily and also let us try it out too! 
We enjoyed listening and finding out lots of interesting things. Thank you, Mrs Hammond! 

Today we had another visit into school. Mr Hammond told us about how he helped people whilst working at the Power Station. We were talking about making our 3D rocket and the best materials for the window. We conducted an experiment to see which materials would be the best. First, we predicted and then we used a torch to test to see if any light would go through the materials.

We sorted the 3D shapes into colours and shapes.

“We’ve made a tower bigger than us using 3D shapes!” 
They named which shapes were good to build towers with. 

This week we have been looking at 3D shapes and their properties. 

Every day, we have been checking and recording the temperature. We have even seen -2’C, we definitely needed our coats, hats and scarves that day! 

We have been weather forecasters and finding out the weather in the UK. Some children made cameras in the making area to record the forecast too. We had other children checking the satellites and others recording the temperature.
